Welcome to the Website of the Chromatographic Society
The Society is an international organisation devoted to the promotion and dissemination of knowledge on all aspects of chromatography and related separation techniques. It was first established as the Gas Chromatography Discussion Group in 1956 with A.T. James as its chairman and D.H. Desty as secretary.
Consequently, 2006 was the golden jubilee anniversary year for the Chromatographic Society and it is still going strong.
The Year Ahead - 2010
We are pleased to announce this years series of meetings, which starts in March with ' Advances in High Resolution and High Speed Chromatography', generously hosted by AstraZeneca at their Alderly Park site. Topics will include the latest developments in uHPLC, 2D chromatography and high speed chromatography detectors.
Our AGM and Spring Meeting, 'CurrentMethod Development Strategies in Separation Science', is going to be hosted by Merck Sharp and Dohme at their Hoddeston site. There has been a resurgence in the development and use of automated method development and 'expert' systems in separation science and this meeting will review its current status and latest developments.
In September, the 28th International Symposium on Chromatography (ISC 201O) is being held in Valencia, having been organised by the Spanish Chromatographic Society. This is the next in the biennial ISC series of meetings, actively supported by the Chromatographic Society, in partnership with its counterparts in the EU.
Finally, we round the year off with 'Bio-macromolecules; the next big challenge for separation science' in October. At the time of going to press, the details of this meeting are still being finalised, but will be published in due course.
